Author Orientation & Training

Empowering Authors to Contribute Rigorous, Visionary Research in Prenatal Sciences

At the International Journal of Prenatal & Life Sciences, we welcome submissions from researchers, clinicians, educators, and professionals across disciplines. We recognize that some contributors—especially those coming from professional, clinical, or advocacy backgrounds—may not have formal research training. To ensure your work aligns with the journal’s principles, rigor, and interdisciplinary vision, we provide a comprehensive Author Orientation & Training program.

Why Orientation Matters

This program ensures that every submission:

  • Reflects a prenate-centered perspective, treating the developing human as an active, relational participant.

  • Integrates complexity-informed, multi-level thinking, connecting biology, psychology, culture, ethics, and environment.

  • Applies salutogenic principles, highlighting growth, resilience, and adaptive capacities.

  • Addresses ethical, legal, and human rights dimensions, including emerging issues in the meta-human era (e.g., assisted reproduction, artificial gestation, genetic technologies).

  • Bridges academic research and professional practice, enhancing clarity, rigor, and societal relevance.

Ready to Submit?

Interested in submitting to this journal? We recommend that you review the About the Journal page for the journal's section policies, as well as the Author Guidelines. Authors need to register with the journal prior to submitting or, if already registered, can simply log in and begin the five-step process.

As this is a peer-review, double-blind journal, PLEASE MAKE SURE that you submit 2 different files:
1. The Title file (include the title of the manuscript, the kind of paper it is, the authors' names and their affiliations, and the contact complete details of the corresponding author, including tel number -if possible- and email)
2. The blinded Manuscript. This is the main body of your article with the title only. Remember that there must be no identification clue as to the identity of the authors. That means that you need to check the whole manuscript for any references that could reveal your identity or any word that could give such a clue.
You can use the word Author(s) or Anonymous to refer to previously published work of yours or citations and remove any figures or data that contain affiliation related identifiers and remove any references to funding sources. Do NOT include any aknowledgements at the submission phase. Name your submitted files in a way that the anonymity is maintained. For more information about how you can create a blinded manuscript you can get when you start the 5-step process of submitting.

Five-Step Submission Process

Submitting your manuscript to the International Journal of Prenatal & Life Sciences is straightforward. Please follow the steps below to ensure your submission meets the journal’s standards and supports a smooth double-blind peer review process.

Step 1: Register or Log In

  • All authors must register with the journal before submitting.

  • If you are already registered, simply log in to your account.

Step 2: Prepare Your Manuscript Files

Prepare two separate files to maintain double-blind review:

  1. Title File – Include:

    • Manuscript title

    • Type of paper (e.g., original research, review, case report)

    • Authors’ names and affiliations. Include your ORCID

    • Complete contact details of the corresponding author (email and telephone, if possible)

  2. Blinded Manuscript – The main body of your article with the title only. Ensure:

    • No author-identifying information is present in the text, figures, tables, or metadata

    • References to your own work are anonymized using “Author(s)” or “Anonymous”

    • Funding sources and acknowledgements are omitted

    • File names maintain anonymity (e.g., “Manuscript_Main” and “Manuscript_Title”)

Step 3: Format Your Manuscript

  • Follow the Author Guidelines for structure, headings, tables, and figures.

  • Use consistent citation style throughout:

    • Vancouver (Numeric) – commonly used in scientific and medical fields

    • MLA (Author–Page) – commonly used in humanities and social sciences

Tip: Choose one style for the entire manuscript and ensure references are accurate.

Step 4: Submit via the Online Portal

  • Access the five-step submission system through your account.

  • Upload your Title File and Blinded Manuscript.

  • Complete any required metadata fields (keywords, abstract, manuscript type).

  • Confirm that all files are correctly formatted and anonymized.
